My name is Tim Hickey and I am raising money for legendary blues guitarist and friend Nick Vigarino from Stanwood, Wa.
If you don't know Nick he is one of the most dedicated and exciting performers of our time!
He has travelled through many cities and states including Alaska and Memphis, TN.
He is an award winning musician who has dedicated his entire life to his Meantown Blues!
Last month, Nick had a terrible accident. While helping some folks with the rebuilding of their home which was damaged in the Oso mudslide in Oso, Washington, Nick slipped on some gravel, fell and broke his left hand and severely sprained his right hand.
Nick's
left hand - his fretting hand, is so badly injured he has had to cancel all of his shows for the month of June and now it looks like he will not be able to perform for the entire month of July either.
This terrible accident and these injuries to Nick's hands come during his busiest time of the year.
He does have some health insurance, but we're uncertain at this time how much he will be billed when all treatments are complete.
As of now, Nick has no income. He is on his own. And he needs our support.
Nick has donated his time to dozens of Blues benefits throughout the years. I have performed with Nick many times since the 1994 . And have watched him many times through those years.
And I've discovered that not only is Nick a fantastic musician and performer, he is a very decent man with a heart of gold.
And I'm asking you to help him out in this critical time of need.
Please give as much as you can as a gift to help Nick maintain his home and his living expenses, and I'm sure we can get him to give us one heck of a concert when he his is back to health at the end of the summer.
I must say, it took me quite a while to convince him to let me do this fund raising campaign. He didn't want to ask for help. He's never done that his whole life.
But here we are. We're at a place where we must do the right thing. I hope you'll help by donating what you can as a gift to Nick Vigarino. Thank you.
