Help Domino the Corgi Walk (Again)

Donation protected
Hi there!

My name is Domino. I'm a 7-year-old Corgi living in beautiful Southern Oregon!

(Enjoying a beautiful day next to the Rogue River!)

Most of you know my story from Instagram (@dominothecorgi), but to those who don't, let me start from the beginning.

For the first six years of my life, I was a frappy Corgi who loved the outdoors! I grew up in the mountains of Idaho, and later moved to Medford, Oregon with my mom. We had a great time conquering mountains, rafting the rivers, and swimming in beautiful lakes! I even got a brother shortly after-  we call him Quince!

(Dirty paws and sunshine make for a great day!)

Anyway, let's get to the point. Last year in March, I ruptured a disc in my back and needed emergency spinal decompression surgery to prevent permanent hind-leg paralysis. Those pesky discs. Don't be fooled, it was major surgery. With lots of determination, love, and support, I was able to recover and walk again! What a journey!

As much as an accomplishment as that was, I am sad to report that my Corgi genetics have failed me once again. My mom noticed hind-leg paralysis on Apr. 20, and immediatley took me to the vet. The nice veterinarian suspected another ruptured disc. Since a ruptured disc requires a special surgeon, we had to trek over 800 miles to find the only one immediately available in Oregon! Good thing I like car rides!

After much thought, this is really the only option that I have. If the ruptured disc goes unrepaired, after 48 hours, the paralysis will become permanent and worse, I could lose function of my bladder control and then need to be put down. The thought of that is absolutley unbearable to my family. I'm only 7, not an old man, I want to live!

As much as I hate to reach out for help once again, I need it. My mom saved up just in case something like this were to happen again, but unfortunatley, some very large and unexpected medical bills recently occurred. My mom was also abruptly laid off from her job due to mass budget cuts across the company. This is a tough time for us and I'd really appreciate it if you could spare a few milkbones! I'd really love to frap free on my little leggies again!

I'm a firm believer of what around, comes around. After I recover, I will work very hard to match every penny donated for other Corgis in need! That's a promise! Thanks for the support, friends!
