Positive Black Images Magazine believes in empowering kids to take control of their future. One way to accomplish this is through education. We want to demonstrate that belief by selecting two outstanding students through our Black Diamonds College Scholarship Essay Contest and awarding them $2,500 scholarships toward college expenses. The Black Diamonds College Scholarship Essay Contest will be promoted nationally to schools, churches and civic organizations, home school association and anywhere that Black students can be reached.
I know there are many in the Black community that share a belief in giving kids an opportunity to excel. My only regret is that we can only select two. But it's a start. Won't you join us in rewarding scholastic excellence and giving striving students a chance to realize their dreams of college?
The money we want to raise is out there. We're calling on people from our OWN community, entrepreneurs, churches, celebrities, civic leaders and even corporations to help us make this happen. Any ONE celebrity or corporate executive could probably write the check for this scholarship fund. We want to make this happen because our kids deserve to be rewarded when they focus on the the right thing. In this case, education.
Let's show what our community can do for these kids and teach them what they can do for their community. i truly believe good deeds get paid forward.
