Sephiroth Moua was born on December 11, 2014 to the new parents of Dou and Luchee Moua.
On August 11, 2015, 8 months old, Sephiroth Moua was rushed to the Emergency Room due to a high fever that caused him to have a seizure. While waiting for the lab results, the parents of Sephiroth was hoping that it was just a minor cold and with some medication he should recover soon. However, when the lab results came back he was diagnose with bacterial meningitis and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for further care and testing.
So what is this Bacterial Meningitis? Bacterial Meningitis is when bacteria enter the bloodstream and migrate to the brain and spinal cord. Ear or sinus infection can also cause bacteria to invade the meninges. Bacterial meningitis infections are the most serious and can be life-threatening if not treated at an early stage. While he was being treated, they found out that the bacteria had spread to his brain and bloodstream, which was causing him to have multiple seizures. He is still getting high fever around 104 degrees F. The doctor said he has lost his hearing and will need cochlear implants. He is currently recovering and being treated at the Wisconsin Children’s Hospital.
Dou and Luchee are new parents and are still learning to become great parents to Sephiroth. It is difficult and heartbreaking to see such a wonderful couple goes through this as new parents to their very first child. No parents should go through this pain of seeing their child in so much pain and discomfort, and feel helpless as a parent to help ease their pain a little. Like anybody else who is new to parenting, they did not expect something terrible like this to happen to their baby.
I am a close friend of the parents and I know that both of them are hard working people. Seeing how their situation is now, with their child in the hospital and unable to go to work because of the stress and worries, I am going to raise as much money as I can to help them with medical expenses. Please help donate or contribute to this family, any donations will help. And please, keep them in your prayers and for a fast recovery for Sephiroth, who has a bright future ahead of him.
