DeToro Family Support Fund

The DeToro Family of Portland, Ct. suffered an unimaginable tragedy on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Steven DeToro, age 55, died unexpectedly. He leaves at home his wife Erin of 22 years, daughter Stevie (age 19) and sons Luke (age 17) and Jack (age 12). As well as his son Kalen DeToro of Middletown. If you were fortunate enough to know Steven, you knew he was energetic, funny, optimistic, loving, caring, and empathetic. Steven loved to have fun- fishing, golfing , playing basketball, wiffle ball, golf cart rides and anything else his kids, nieces and nephews wanted to do. He was always there to put a smile on your face , help -out or pick you up when you were down. Steven was the first person to show selfless generosity, even if he wasn't in a financial position to do so. He always put others before himself and cherished his friends and family. Strangers soon became friends in Steven's company.
As you may or may not have know, Steven struggled with diabetes for 31 years. Despite efforts to control his diabetes, he suffered severe, extreme complications that profoundly affected his life and ultimately led to his untimely death. Steven touched countless lives in his short years with us.
