My name is Helen Delpopolo, I am currently the 2015 Middleweight Sumo National Champion for our great country USA! 

Unfortunetly there is not much funding available for sumo even at the highest level, unlike U.S mainstream sports likeSoccer & Swimming. That's why I am here on Gofundme, I NEED YOUR HELP! with my background in high level competition & my will to win, I believe I can make history by becoming the First female Sumo WORLD CHAMP from the USA!

I was the youngest athlete to ever win a national title in Sumo and Compete in the Senior World Championships in 2005 at the age of 12

This year, on the 10th anniversay of my first team I decided to come out of retirement and compete in this years nationals to honor my Sensei, Yoshisada Yonezuka who heartbreakingly passed away this past October. He was the Vice President inthe world of Sumo and the founding member of Sumo in the United States. Yone was my Sensei. my coach, and my mentor. He was the '88 & '92 Olympic coach for the United States in Judo. He has coached & guided athletes to World Titles in Judo, Sumo & Karate, as well as Olympic medals in Judo. To say that I have learned from the best in an understatment. With his guidence & technique instilled on me for the past 18 years
I have qualified for the 2015 World Championships in Osaka, Japan in August of this year!
