DANIEL'S REPLACEMENT RAMP VAN

Donation protected

2019

Daniel was born on November 22, 1997, with a severely deformed brain.  His condition, "Polymicrogyria" was caused by a virus, that I had when I was in the early stages of pregnancy apparently.  That virus, is called the Cytomegalovirus, or CMV.

At 21 years old, Daniel is a sweet, smiling, handsome young man. He is non verbal, he is significantly developmentally delayed, his cognitive abilities are that of a young child. He has a seizure disorder, he can not eat by mouth due to aspiration risk, and is feeding tube fed at a slow rate 24 hours a day.  Confined to a wheelchair, requires 100% assistance.

My life, as his Mom, guardian, care giver... is devoted to managing his complicated care, and fragile medical condition.

The costs, both tangible and intangible have left our family in a great struggle, while trying to give Daniel the best quality of life possible,

He is a beautiful young man. And our house is very old. Needs a new furnace. Updates. Wider doorways. And repairs to leaks and sheet rock holes. On every side of finances, I have people all over me and we could really use a break.

I have a YouTube channel, and I try to share what life is like along this journey...   we love to have people join us, and support the channel.  Its been a real blessing and sort of creative outlet for me.

Our out of pocket medical expenses are over $25,000 a year.  It is a real struggle to keep it all together without letting anxiety and depression cripple my energy.

When Daniel is sick, or does not have nursing care, I am unable to work.  I try really hard, but frequently have to forgo income in lieu of caring for Daniel.  We need funds, to help continue to make our home accessible, doorways, and bathroom repairs, to purchase equipment for therapy that the insurance (Medicaid) does not pay for, to repair Daniel's 2004 Ford Lift van, which needs alot of work, or maybe even start the process of hopefully getting a new van in better condition, Daniel's clothing, supplies, expenses, and technology needs....  are urgent.     And honestly, any help really eases the struggle, and allows me to focus more fully on Daniel's health and quality of life.

I humble myself, as Daniels Mom and guardian. I wonder if anyone knows or cares how hard it is to give up your career and devote your life to caregiving.

I hope you consider helping us.   If you would like to contact us, please just leave a comment that you would like to be in touch and I will reach back.     If you would like to reach us by mail??   You can do so at
