Woodfall Manor Housing Co-Op

Our mission is to found a radical housing cooperative and community space in New Orleans!  Once completed, the house will provide low cost rooms for artists, activists, community organizers, students, and other active, community-minded individuals.  We also plan to provide sections of the house and property to the public for events, organizing, a safe meeting space, workshops, etc.  The house will be run democratically by the current members with input from others in the community, and should be constantly alive and changing as people come and go, but the underlying aim will remain the same; to be a solid, permanant positive space in New Orleans.  

Woodfall Manor aims not only to sustain itself, but to act as a springboard for other community projects by offering affordable housing, free use of the space, and a stimulating, nurturing social environment to those aspiring to bring about positive change in the area and re-energize the DIY scene. 

In recent months, NOLA's community has suffered the loss and suspension of many of it's non-profit/DIY spaces and services.  Often this is due to rental problems.  Our solution to this was to rather than rent a space, find a property and purchase it outright.  And we did!  However, the house we were able to purchase, while ideal for communal living and in an accessible area, does need a lot of work!  That's where you come in!  Any amount you can spare will help us get off the ground!
