Hi my name is LC and im going to influence a unique child's life! Heres a bit about me and how!
I am a french bulldog/ boston terrier cross and im 4weeks old. I have a cleft lip and I have struggled these long weeks, but im a fighter and im going to make it!
My cleft lip hinders my ability to nurse (with help from my human i can do it though!). I require supplementation of puppy formula, by syringe, every 2-4hours. My human mum wakes up with her baby through the night still, so i get fed my food then too (Sometimes i catch her falling asleep in the closet with us ha).
Even though im now steadily gaining weight, I am still teeny tiny (13oz) especially compared to my brothers and sisters (who no longer even fit on the kitchen scale). I love cuddling into a hand or a sibling, im active and very sweet!
Why i REALLY need your help:
I am special. Most puppies like me dont survive, which is why you've likely never heard of a dog with cleft lip. I had a brother who had a bilateral (double sided) cleft lip as well as a cleft palate (roof of the mouth has a gap), unfortunately the vet didnt tell us he needed to be tube fed, and sadly he didnt make it. With lots of love and the oportunity for a fighting chance, im getting stronger day by day.
BUT what i get to do is go to a family with a child that has a cleft lip just like i do!
My human mum has heard that children with special traits (such as cleft lips) do extremely well with animals that have a matching feature, it decreases their feelings of negativity towards their trait, confidence, some even become proud of their trait because they feel just as special to match their lil puppy, closeness and bonding is ten fold, they are a 'perfect match', they are soulmates! (Below we are practicing playing with our 13mo old, who loves us!)
Now my mom is giving me to a special family (i have a few potentials, but still accepting applicants) for no cost! All her time and effort is out of love. She says 'i want it to be purely about enhancing a child and puppy's life'. This money raised would be to help with the costs of surgeries for my lip and any dental surgeries, medical treatments and general costs such as vaccinations, deworming, formula, etc. in order to allow me to go to my forever family without the additional costs to them.
Families with children that have cleft lips and/or palates go through great struggles during their lifetime; (most often) not being able to breastfeed, going through surgeries, taking time off work, dental bills, physically, mentally and finanicially, So in order to limit these on LC's behalf, Please help DONATE NOW! :)
