"Cycling for Change; A Ride to Benefit the Homeless."
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. The Tour de Valley 2014 will be my first "official" entry into the cycling world. I decided to enter this ride as a checklist for my thirty first year of life on this Earth. It now has a deeper meaning and a higher purpose. I am riding in this event in honor of WARM (Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry). They help the less fortunate and down trodden women and children in this area with housing, basic amenities and supportive services. This area is starting to see a rise in the homeless population. WARM, a non-profit organization, has taken the lead in helping those less fortunate and dealing with this circumstance.
The goal of this ride is to raise awareness for the homeless community in this area, and also raise money to help WARM provide shelter, support and supplies for the people in need. Here are our donation goals:
*Twenty-five people to donate $.10 per mile (total donation of $6.20 per person).
*Fifteen people to donate $.50 per mile (total donation of $31.00 per person).
*Ten people to donate $1.00 per mile (total donation of $62.00 per person).
These are just goals that we came up with, so feel free to donate what you can, or what you feel is appropriate. Any and all donations are welcomed.
