CrossFactor Doing the Extraordinary

Cross Factor Academy
is a Preschool -12 private Christian school serving urban students in the Greater Boston area.  They take students labeled as academic and behavioral risks and immerse them in an advanced placement level STEM curriculum that also maintains a focus on language arts, social studies and theology.

CFA students defy the statistical outcomes for students labeled as “at-risk” and instead, thrive in the school learning community.  CFA applies a unique STEM curriculum that begins in the early education phase and continues in a cyclical learning model so that by middle school, CFA students are proficient in advanced mathematics.  CFA has an outstanding track record of success that rivals and far surpasses academic achievement levels for students of color in independent, charter and private schools.

CFA’s students have scored in the top 3% of all students taking the PSAT exams.  Their eighth grade students have scored higher that sophomores taking the PSAT’s.  CFA’s unique academic model and the academic successes of our students defies the stereotypes that students of color “can’t do math” or are not capable of achieving in a STEM-based curriculum.

In order to continue to produce these high academic achievement levels, Cross Factor Academy and the students it serves need your support.  CFA maintains a low teacher-student ratio and small class sizes with a tuition base that is a third to half of the tuition charged by other independent schools.  CFA achieves its students’ academic success with a per pupil cost that is 22% of the per pupil cost for the Boston Public School system.  Yet, for the families of current and prospective CFA students, the tuition fees often represent insurmountable barriers and sacrifice.  The majority of our families are at the lower and lowest socio-economic levels of society and yet want desperately to have their children in an academic setting that will produce high academic achievement.  CFA has attempted to absorb the resulting fiscal deficit, however, the school is now at a critical juncture financially.

We need your assistance and investment in the future of our CFA student body.  You can support our students at several levels:

 ·         $10,000 upgrades the science lab to increase the level of sophistication for students’ science projects

·         $5,000 supports one CFA student for an academic year

·         $2,500 supports one CFA student for half the academic year or provides support for a CFA student or community youth to participate in a summer intensive STEM program

·         $1,500 buys a laptop or tablet for a student

·         $1,000 provides after-school support for a student.

·         $500 buys textbooks for a history class

·         A donation of $250.00, $150.00, or $100.00 demonstrates your caring support for our students.

Your donations large and small will make a incredible difference in the lives of our students!
