North Devon Coastal Marathon

Hi, my name is Alex and I am a teacher of physical education at Route39 Academy based in the stunning North Devon coast line.
We are a new school, currently still operating out of temporary class rooms but the staff and students are amazing and there is such a lovely community vibe at the school.
Our size and current situation really does limit us to what sporting opportunities we can provide for our students. Funding for the school is tight so there are limits to what we can offer the students in the work of experiences.
As a result of this I have agreed to attempt to run from my home in Bude to work in Clovelly and do this along the coastal path. As the crow flies this is 26.4 miles but as you can imagine, there will be many steep valleys that I will need to conquer in order to complete this challenge.
Now, I hear you say, "that can be done, if you are a runner!" This is the problem, I am no runner! Don't get me wrong, I keep fit and participate in team sports but I am certainly not built for long distance running so the training is hard and a bit of a shock (especially for my calf muscles!)
Your help would massively contribute to further sporting opportunities that I would like to provide for our students. Some of these would be long term fixes as we would look to purchase sporting equipment, but we also aim to support our students with opportunities to experience sports that they may otherwise not be able to try.
I can not begin to explain how beneficial your contribution would be to this challenge. It will by no means be easy and I expect to endure many more weeks of painful calf muscles prior to the event taking place on Monday 18th July.
