Clay Harding Memorial Picnic Area

CLAY FOREVER
Clay and I started skating in elementary school. We would always feed off each other's hype and push each other to get better. When middle school came, we didn't hang out as much and ended up drifting away from each other. Clay didn't skate very much during middle school while I continued to skate almost everyday.  But, in high school we became better friends as he started to skate more and more. Clay became an instant local at the Alameda skatepark. He skated because he loved it. There were days when I would show up at the skatepark and he was the only one there, just listening to his music and skating the bowl. Sadly, at the peak of Clay's coming as a skater, he was taken away from us on November 23, 2014. Clay was always a very outgoing guy. He always had a smile and knew how to make somebody laugh. Any friend of Clay has fond memories of being with him. Even people who didn't really know him well could tell that he was a great person.

In honor of Clay's amazing life, I am working with his mom and the local parks and rec department to construct a picnic area at the skatepark as a memorial. I have made this  my Eagle Scout project with Troop 73, Alameda. Me being a jobless highschooler, I need your help to pay the $2,000 for a couple of picnic benches and an engraved memorial plaque.

The Alameda Skatepark has created a family of skaters, young to old. It has brought together many people and created many friendships. Now join me in helping give back to the Skatepark, and bring this project to life.
