In 2016, Jim McNeil, founder of the ice-warrior programme, will be taking four groups of 7 ordinary people from all walks of life on an 800 mile journey across the Arctic Ocean in an attempt to be the first people to reach the Northern Pole of Inaccessibility. As part of this world first they will be gathering crucial datasets to help benchmark the condition of the ocean and deliver the reality of climate change.
Having been selected to take part in this extraordinary expedition, i now have the daunting task of raising the funds to pay for the training, equipment and scientific equipment needed to help gather the knowledge needed, if we're really to become guardians of our planet.
Please, believe me when I say I’m very aware that this seems like an enormous amount of money to raise, especially given that I only have 4 months to raise it but I have every confidence that it’s possible and every donation you make, no matter how small will be gratefully received.
