CJ's Dream and Future

This campaign is to make the dream of a 6 year old boy named CJ a reality. Recently we found out his mom's battle with brain cancer is terminal. As one last wish, in the short amount of time he has left to spend with her, he wants to go on a trip to Disney World with his parents. We're not sure if that will be possible, but we can figure out a way to bring Disney to him. This will require not only moving heaven and earth, but as much money as we can gather. If we do manage to succeed this goal, the remaining money will go towards CJ's future.

"Roughly 62 months ago, my big sister Katie received her glioblastoma multiforme . Since then she's had 3 brain operations, a hysterectomy, thyroid removal, multiple radiation treatments, chemo treatments, infusions, MANY MANY seizures, hospital stays & MRIs...I'm sure theres more to her story that I cant recall at moment... This past Thursday, her infusions were discontinued, a timeline was established, and she was referred to hospice care. That is the brief quick overview of the worst 5 years of my family's life. As of Thursday, we were given the inevitable news that we were all hoping was nothing more then a hoax, a CRUEL CRUEL joke set forth by the higher power of your understanding. We have been notified that the course of treatment she has endured and suffered through during that time is NOT working, that the last course of action is to simply keep her comfortable during the final battle of this horrible disease that has not only taken a toll directly on Katie (her mental stability, her muscle strength, and her ability to function as a normal member of society), but also her birth family, her married family, her friends, and MOST of all, her 6 year old son CJ, whom has only known his mommy to be sick from his very first memories on. We have been informed that her EXPECTANCY is roughly 3-4 weeks. Now all of that being said, my sister is a fighter and a survivor. She has accomplished so much more then even the team of doctors whom have been by her side, from day 1, thought possible. Amidst multiple seizures, falls, other scares, healing, etc., she attended college classes and received her MA degree, attended online college courses working to get a bachelor's degree in a medical field (forgive me, I don't remember exactly WHAT the exact bachelor's was); classes were ultimately dropped as of this past weekend for obvious reasons. All this success, all the while, she raised her son...not alone: her husband (his father), both grandmothers, and a wide array of other family and friends; but she made sure to play a MAJOR ROLE in CJs life and upbringing. She also assisted in the raising of her 3 nieces Abigail, Madison, and Lilian, the children of her sister Kayla; she played a MAJOR role in helping me (her brother) get through a HORRIBLY troublesome point in my life, & she has assisted in guiding me & my two daughters Evelyn and Madilyn. She played a major part in keeping my family together when my own mental state began to suffer and I had seriously considered leaving my fiancé and daughters, she has given our entire family a reason to keep believing, to stand up in the face of fears, to fight on no matter how far the odds stack up against us. With all that said, I could keep going with all of the reasons Katie is my hero...I will stop here for now before I get myself in tears. To each and everyone of you reading this, I beg of you (im not a praying man), PLEASE pray for Katie, a sister, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a cousin, a dear friend. "
