Chris Petty Memorial Fund

From the time he was able to hold a pencil, Chris drew .... on everything. I had to hide paper or else he would draw something on every scrap - a small heart, a stick figure, a rainbow - something - he couldn't NOT draw. As frustrating as it was to find his pictures on some important papers at times, I loved every one of them.

He loved movies/TV - anything visual that would tell a story. Over time he developed what we called his Stick Figure Theatre. Give him the name of a movie or TV show and he would draw a scene from it using stick figures. Of course he would always put his spin on it and they were really very funny, but you would immediately know the scene he was depicting. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the drawings, don't know where they went to - except for these Jack In The Beanstalk figures shown here. He made them into regrigerator magnets.

Monday Morning, March 9, our dear Christopher Petty  passed peacefully in his sleep.  There wasn't a person that Chris didn't bring a smile to their life.  It's alomst as as if his existence brightened the hearts and minds of every thing he came across.  A talented artist, with the ability to caption any scenario and ad a bit of humor that appealed to everyone.
His ever creative intelligence allowed him to write and imagine things to a detail only compariable with true genius.  His whit and insight could captivate not only your imagination but bring such laughter and joy.  To those around him he was almost theraputic to those he surroumded himself with.   The ever refernced teddy bear merely brushes the feeling to be loved and embraced on any level by Chris.  There wasnt a person, nor circumstance where he didn't act of nobility.  His friendship to soo many will be forever mourned by so many.  As a freind, he stood by so many through so much, never expecting anything inreturn.  Just truly being his geniune, amazing self.  All arragnements regarding memorial service will be announced in the days to come.  At this time, Chris needs your support and frienship.   With his passing so young and unexpected in his life, the costs were not anticipated and could be quite a heavy burden on his family.   As donations come in and the planning becomes less overwhelming and accesable, there will be more information regarding a memorial service in his honor, in a fashion he wouldve enjoyed.  Please feel free to continue to post your postive experiences and memories of his life.  The joy of his heart are the memories we should hold onto forever.
