Cheryl's Advanced MSW Program
Donation protected
Dearest Friends and Family Members, Colleagues, and Mentors,
I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted into Temple University's MSW Advanced Standing Program. The program is very selective and allows students to obtain a Master of Social Work degree in three accelerated semesters, or one year, instead of four semesters, or two years.
For most of my life I didn't think a college education was a possibility, but once I started I fell in love with learning and realized how important having an education is to me. I've been working incredibly hard in school, all the while working more than one job at a time to fund my education and living expenses. This has been harder to accomplish lately while interning, unpaid, two days per week, and will be even harder this coming semester with an unpaid three day per week internship requirement.
An MSW degree will provide me with an extensive education and a useful internship experience in social policy, with a focus on mental health policy, and will greatly improve my chances of one day creating positive change in this world. If you know me, you know that is one of my main priorities. However, getting into the program is one thing, while paying for the program is something else altogether.
I have been granted a partial merit-based scholarship to the graduate program. Unfortunately, however, the cost of the program greatly exceeds the scholarship amount that I have been awarded. The total cost of my tuition for this one year accelerated program will be approximately $20,500. To date, I have $10,500 toward my goal, and will continue to work part-time and attempt to save even more.
The program begins this summer. Your donations will help me secure my place in graduate school by ensuring that I can pay at least the minimum amount to register each semester.
A donation of any amount, however small, will be greatly appreciated! If you cannot donate, I completely understand. We all have expenses and sometimes simply can't spare much. Obviously, because I am here starting this campaign, I know this. Sharing this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and via email would also be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for your time and consideration, and for your support throughout my educational journey!
Most Sincerely,
Cheryl Anne
