BecauseYouCan Cycle Challenge

On August 29th 2015 I will be paying my own way to join a team of people who will gather in Italy for the “Because You Can” cycle ride through the dolomites. This five day, 73 mile ride is to fund raise and bring awarness to the BecauseYouCan Foundation which was started by my daughter, Caley Rinker, for her Dad who has MS.  She started #BecauseYouCan, a nonprofit that addresses quality of life concerns for individuals living with Neurodegenerative Diseases, to restore a sense of connection and possibility to lives so harshly defined by physical limitation.

I am riding because I know what it is like to live with someone you love who has a terrible disabling disease. It is so hard to see them deal with having their bodies slowly stop doing what we all take for grated. It is also so hard for those caretakers who love them and give up some or all of their lives to help them.  I am riding so this foundation can help in giving items that will help that person to have a fuller life. I am riding for that caregiver who is so tired and sad and just needs a break but there is no one else to help.  We want to help.
 
Please help me reach my goal of $5000 in order to fund quality of life-enhancing tools and experiences for people with these Neurodegenerative challenges. There are so many support systems, capabilities, and experiences that we all take for granted that are in fact quality of life-keystones.
