22yo Quentin's Life Forever Changed

Donation protected
Quentin, a Virginia native, left the comfort of his family and friends to pursue his dreams in Atlanta Georgia. He had high hopes of furthering his career as an Audio Programmer. His love of music took him to The Art Institute of Atlanta and later he transferred to SAE Institute.  He has been working with up and coming artist, trying to help them meet the right people and further their careers, as well as his own.

Quentin has a natural musical ability; he wrote songs on his off time and spent hours in the studio developing his sound, his lyrics, and relationships that would forever change his life. He has tried to be a positive influence to others, always lending a helping hand when he can. He’s respectful to everyone he meets and never meets a stranger. Quentin ‘s ability to adapt and make new friends continues to amaze me.

Quentin was raised by a single mom, who is a retired, disabled veteran.

Being the baby boy, he was always there to help her out, taking care of the everyday chores that could sometimes be overwhelming for her. He took care of simple things like  taking out the trash and mowing the lawn, she could always depend on him.

In the early hours of August the 2nd, 2015, Quentin was out  with some friends at a well known downtown Atlanta Club.  A fight broke out on the inside of the club and another outside the club. He was outside waiting for his ride home when he heard gunshots and fell to the ground.   In an instant, his world abruptly turned upside down. I received a phone call that said he had been shot twice and he was at the trauma hospital in Atlanta. I waited patiently for an update while I searched for flights that would get me there as soon as possible. By 10:00 I finally was told he was in emergency surgery. Still not knowing the extent of the damage; I caught the first plane I could -to be by his side.

Quentin’s life has forever changed. He lost his left kidney, spleen, and part of his pancreas. He has a colonoscopy and if that’s not enough…. One of the bullets hit his vertebrae and now he’s a paraplegic . He has been in so much pain, and will need months if not years of rehabilitation, mental counseling, medications. He is in need of home care, equipment and renovations to our home in order for him to be self sufficient. Quentin is 22 years old and is in the fight of his life.

Quentin had to have an additional surgery to stabilize his back. He was unable to move until they did so. With his L2 vertebrae shattered, his back would have collapsed and created even more damage to his spinal cord than was already done by the bullet. He will have to undergo at least one more surgery, maybe more.

We need your help. If you can help in any way it will be appreciated, The money raised will go towards medical bills, therapy,  equipment, nursing care, rehabilitation,  medication and renovations needed to allow him to move around our home. Any amount, big or small, will be put towards helping him.  We ask that you please forward this to anyone you know and ask them to pass it on. Please continue to pray for Quentin and our family.  We thank you in advance for your generosity. Every donation helps!

It is with our utmost gratitude and appreciation that we offer our thanks for reading Quentin’s story and donating any amount you can.
