Any Amount Helps! I still have a long way to go, but this is GREAT NEWS!! I've been accepted into Grant MacEwan University's Bachelor of Arts Program, where I intend to pursue a double major of Social Justice and Physics beginning THIS SEPTEMBER!!!!!!
Those who know me well know that this has been my dream since returning to Canada. I've had a pretty rough couple of years, including homelessness and a mental break down. I'm still trying to stabilize and this opportunity is a real chance for me to turn that into something POSITIVE! The only thing that's kept me going is the hope that I can learn enough to help other people.
Ideally, I'd continue to pursue a masters degree in Physics, followed by a doctorate program. My top pick for post-graduation employment would be with CERN, and I know they only take the best so I'll have to work DAMN HARD! I've been so grateful and blessed to have the support of so many people in my life and I know it's something I can never truly repay, except by doing my best and keeping on keeping on. If you can help, I won't let you (or myself) down.
I haven't been in school since 1998. In high school I was top of my class, getting the highest marks in English, Physics, and Chemistry, so you need not fear that I'll waste this opportunity I so desperately want. Instead of going through Academia I lived my ideals, dared to dream, and pursued the art world in NYC. Even then, through my art, it was always my goal to make the world a better place, to stimulate consciousness, and to help those less fortunate. That hasn't changed, I've simply found a different way to do that! Sadly, I can't do it alone.
Please help me to face the only obstacle which would prevent me from excelling in this chosen endeavour, and get me well on the way to earning a PhD so that I can return the favour to others in need down the road.
