Come one, come all and support your favorite candidata as I compete for the crown in the annual Festival de Maiz (Festival of Corn)!! This year I have the honor of representing San Sebatian, Sesori in the pageant that will take place on Sunday, August 10th.
Here's where I need your help. Each candidata is responsible for raising funds to help build a youth center in the town of Sesori. The candidata with the most donations will be crowned queen! The youth in my community, and the pueblo, do not have access to safe spaces where they can spend time socializing or participating in activities. Many spend their time in the streets, where they are likely to fall into bad habits. All of the funds raised will go towards the construction of a new youth center, to combat the influence of gangs and drugs in the area.
