So sorry its taken so long...
So sorry its taken so long for an update. Casey is doing pretty good! She had her first round of chemo Monday and Tuesday of this week, and her first radiation on Wednesday. All in all she is handling everything very well! Nothing will bring her down, she's one of the strongest people we know! Everyones prayers and support is truly appreciated! The photo is right after she had chemo, she had bags of ice on her head, because she read an article that said youre less likley to lose your hair!

Casey, her Mother Jan and Aunt Jean came home from Bethesda Maryland on Friday. After a long week and numerous tests the Doctors have yet again devastating news for the family. Casey's rare condition is hereditary. The Doctors in Omaha are now working with Doctors from Maryland to form a treatment regimen for Casey. We will keep you all updated once treatment begins. Again.... please keep Casey and her family in your thoughts and prayers, they need all of our support!

Hello everyone! My name is Courtney Charf I am from Omaha, Nebraska. On February 23rd 2013, my 18 year old sister Casey Charf got into a very bad car accident. Thanking God that she was still alive, we came to find out after she got a CT scan, she has a very large tumor. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with Malignant Pheochromocytoma, a very rare and unusual cancer. Since her specific cancer is so rare, no doctors in Nebraska have ever seen a case of it, or treated it so we are going to have to find specialists out of town. We are asking everyone for donations if you can to help our family pay for some of the medical bills that are headed our way. We have a long road ahead of us, but with faith, God, and support WE WILL BEAT THIS! Thank you to everyone who donates and supports her, it is appreciated more than anyone could imagine!

Please check out www.gerson.org. They have been naturally eliminating cancers from even terminally ill cancer patients for many years. God designed our bodies to heal themselves if given the things it needs. My prayers are with you all for Casey's healing!

Casey just wanted to say that this world has become such a scary place for so many young people..I don't know your religious beliefs but I do know that God is as strong if not stronger now than he has been in all of mankind. Your book of life with Him has already been written and no matter how challenging a situation is...always remember that you have the option to hit your knees be faithful and thankful for what u do have. Your spirit moved me as well as many others on this site! Keep smiling and most of all keep that light in your soul lit.....God will not bring u to it...if he is not going to help u out of it! you are truly an inspiration!! I saw an interview that you did and your spirit is amazing!! I was just recently diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor that is cancer and at 47 I wish that I could handle it as well as you have.

Please look into Dr.Bursinsky's clininc in Houston, check the video on YouTube. Chemo and Radiation are toxic and can cause more damage. Anti-neoplastons can completly heal most cancers without side effects. God bless.

Casey, I saw your story and we have things in common. I just had surgery at UNMC to remove my adrenal and Pheocromocytoma a week ago Monday. I also had no idea of any real symptoms. I found out after going into cardiac arrest, coding for 15 minutes and Doctoers at Lakeside revived me. After having 5% heart life, they decided to life flight me to UNMC for higher care. They did not even think I would make the flight and prepared my family for the worst. I did survive the flight, and was hooked up to ecmo (life support) for a week while Doctors searched for a heart virus and evaluated putting me on a heart transplant list. After 5 days, my heart came back fully functional, and it was then that the Doctors found the mass on my adrenal that was causing all of the problems. There is much more to the story, but it has been one miracle after another. Dr. Pacek also met with some of my Doctors and offered to help. Through all of this craziness that began Dec. 7th, 2012, I can offer you so much hope and encouragement and you can beat this! If you want to verify who I am, I have a Caring Bridge site and the World Herald did my story the first Monday after Valentines day this year. Casey, your story has been amazing and you've turned into an inspirational pheo/para star overnight! As a long term survivor, I want to let you know there is hope! I was diagnosed with pheo at age 16. I'm now 29, a wife, and even a mother of a beautiful and healthy 5-year-old son. Over the years of working closely with researchers and organizations, I've come up with a saying, "The pheo and para community may be small, and we may be rare, but I've yet to see a community match how much we care." If you ever need help with anything, there are at least 600 pheo para people watching your story closely on FB and throughout the internet, including myself.
