Family and Pets Separated

Volunteers at the Carson Animal Shelter see sad and traumatic events every day, but what happened one day last week broke their hearts in a way they never imagined.

A single mother of a 13-year-old girl, 11-year-old boy, and a baby on the way (due in August) showed up at the shelter with her two beloved dogs and cat. She and her children are victims of domestic violence and had to leave their abusive situation suddenly. She was forced to find a new home for her family in a hurry and could only afford a small apartment that does not allow pets. They say the abuse was traumatic but losing their pets was worse. They desperately want to keep the animals but need our help.

Bella is a 7-yr-old German Shepard, Princess is a 10-yr-old Bichon Frise, and their feline sister, Shanay, is a 6-yr-old long haired cat. Through rescue networking we have found a foster home for the animals for one month so we can help raise money to safely get this family in an apartment where they can keep their pets. These children have been through enough abuse...they shouldn't have to lose their pets. Let's help this family keep the things in their lives that make them happy...

This family is not asking for a handout. We wouldn't have even known about them had volunteers not run into them at the shelter.

Every little bit will help...even five or ten dollars.

These children are going through a tough time and Mom says "All they want is to be with their animals".
