Mullets Against Malaria is a fundraiser undertaken by the Gentlemen of St. Edward’s Hall. It’s a day where the Gentlemen of the Hall sport the legendary hairstyle of the 80’s, the mullet, to raise campus awareness and help join forces with Nothing But Nets to prevent the spread of a disease that affects over 198 million people around the world… malaria.
How Can You Join the Fight?
Save a life by joining the Gentlemen of St. Edward’s Hall and its partner in the fight, Nothing But Nets, and donate $10—the price a mosquito net. It’s that simple!
Why Get Involved?
In the developing world, malaria is one of the most damaging and debilitating infectious diseases. In 2014, the World Health Organization estimated there to be 198 million cases of malaria and reported 584,000 deaths. Many organizations, including our partner, Nothing But Nets, have focused their efforts on malaria prevention, protecting the 3.3 billion people at risk of contracting this deadly but preventable disease. Nothing But Nets is a global campaign to raise awareness and fund the fight against malaria by sending life-saving mosquito nets to families in high risk areas.
