I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, living right in the Villard/Sherman Boulevard area. I walked to the movies as a child; I went to the bakery and I banked at was First Wisconsin State Bank many years ago.
The changes in the community have impacted my life, the lives of my children and my grandchildren. I have walked, worked, and prayed on Villard Ave since May 22, 2017 and am making it my goal to build for better
Villard Avenue, between Teutonia and Sherman Boulevard is, what I call, a business district. Once a thriving area of a variety of businesses including a one screen movie theatre, hardware store and bakery, it now has empty buildings SCREAMING for activity.
There are new projects being introduced to the area.
I want to add to those new projects with a project of my own by obtaining a building, or two, to house offices, FAMILY entertainment, diversity and faith based activities.
Buildings need to be purchased.
Buildings need to be renovated and brought up to code.
B.A.D is ready to BUILD FOR BETTER.
Your donation will help us to start phase one of the project which is drawing up plans, assessing renovation costs, and intent to purchase.
Other fundraisers including, dinner and bake sales will happen throughout the summer.
