Hi my name is Dennis Duell, I am the Campaign Organizer, CEO and Founder of CheckPoint 6 Inc. Please take the time to read all the information we have provided, and even the smallest donation means so much to us, we have a long road ahead of us, please walk it with us! The money that we generate will help us purchase land in a region of NY that supports growing vegetables and fruit trees, usually these lands are a little higher in price because they are located near water. We will be talking to each town with possible locations for zoning laws, one of the biggest things we want to do is convert shipping containers into housing so making sure the area we purchase the land in supports Veterans, Farming and being cost effective with new types of ideas and housing, we want to make sure the community we reside in is cohesive with veterans and our needs. Also one of the biggest things we want to make sure people have is transparency, about what CheckPoint 6 Inc. does with the donated funds, we want to make sure when you donate to us you will be able to see what we are doing with your gift!
Mission Statement:
CheckPoint 6 Inc. is a non-profit organization that is run by military veterans for military veterans. The goal is to help combat veterans who may be suffering from from PTSD, stress, or ailments associated with war. We want veterans to learn to love themselves again as well as those that are close to them. They will practice stewardship in a community and environment that facilitates a holistic approach to living and introduces them to farming practices that promote a healthy, sustainable diet that will bring about healing and recovery.
Vision Statement:
CheckPoint 6 Inc. will be a fully functional agricultural farm that is run by veterans and their families. It will incorporate organic practices as well as low-impact farming techniques that foster environmental stewardship and meaningful connections between veterans and families. CheckPoint 6 will teach life skills and coping mechanisms that encourage these men and women to transition to healthier lifestyles that are sustainable. Housing will be provided on site and will give them a safe place to live and recover. It will also allow them to establish bonds by working as a team towards common, realistic, and achievable goals. They will then learn to reach out and assist other area farms and show they can again contribute and make a difference in this world and their own lives.

In closing The funds generated will purchase the property along with take care of all the necessary costs with equipment for the farm. Absolute transparency about all funds spent will always be the first thing we bring to the table. And we don't want to have to continue to ask for donations down the road, we want to become a self sustaining farm. I myself take no paycheck from the nonprofit, I receive disability payments from the Veterans Administration. Making sure the veterans who come to the farm are well taken care of is our mission. Healing is our mission.
