What is more frightening than Halloween?
Childhood Cancer..
My mission is to bring a warm smile to the face of a child at a very frightening time in their life, by giving them a cute, handmade crocheted halloween themed hat.
I would like to crochet as many halloween hats as possible in the next 6 months. Then bring them to pediatric oncology departments at Children's hospitals in the Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento areas, the week of September 7th, 2015. The hats will be distributed by nurses and doctors to these very brave children in hope of making them smile and letting them know people do care about them and admire their bravery.
I am a highschool junior, and a lifeguard. I have purchased a lot of yarn and supplies from the money I make from my job, but would love to buy more supplies in order to make more hats. I need yarn, felt, gift bags, and other supplies to make this a success. Even a $5. donation can buy a scane of yarn. Please help me by donating whatever you can, I promise to continue to crochet my fingers off for the next 6 months. And post pictures of my progress. Thank you for your help!
