Brittany & Schuyler's Journey

Brittany always told me that as a teenager she imagined herself married in her early twenties and having kids in her late twenties.  But as most of us learn, the Lord's plans and timing are much different than what we have in mind.  Brittany is 26,  graduated  Bible college in 2014 and started her career at the end of 2014 working with troubled teens at Missouri Baptist Children's Home in Mount Vernon, MO.  At the end of her senior year in college she met her fiance, Schuyler. Brittany and Schuyler describe their first few encounters as divine appointments because there were way too many connections and seemingly random collisions to be giving the credit to mere chance or "coincidence". And as Romans 8:28 says, "Know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose". The Lord has been preparing all good works for this couple. As Brittany and Schuyler anticipate all the excitement that comes with starting their future together, they were faced with an unexpected challenge. This past February, Brittany had been in and out of the hospital with what doctors believed to be aggressive pneumonia. After a thoracotomy, surgery in her plural cavity, she thought all her troubles were over. However, on Thursday, June 11th, her biopsy said otherwise. Brittany was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, cancer in her lymphatic system. The most updated prognosis was on Thursday, June 25th. Brittany's cancer was identified as stage 4. In the midst of this tragic news, Brittany, and her family and friends are believing that the Lord only intends to use this experience for His glory. So with the 'C' word on the table, Schuyler and Brittany are choosing to celebrate their wedding day much faster than anticipated. They will have just about a month to plan and finance the wedding that they both have dreamt of and deserve! If you're wondering what their story has to do with you and how can you help, here are a few things you can consider. First, would you commit to praying for physical, emotional and spiritual healing? Secondly, would you pray for peace and that the bondage of fear would be conquered during this journey? Thirdly, would you pray for their soon to be marriage and that it will prevail and strengthen them as individuals and as a unit through this impending difficult season? And lastly, would you pray about financially partnering with them as they quickly pull together resources for their wedding and any health expenses? This is a very humbling experience  for them. Words cannot even begin to express the gratitude for however you choose to partner with Brittany and Schuyler during this  difficult journey.  May the Lord bless you!

Also, it has come to my attention that some of those who would be interested in partnering financially may be skeptical of giving online. You may mail your contribution to the address provided below. Please make any and all checks out to Brittany Carter
