WHY SHOULD YOU BREATHE FOR CHANGE?
Here's why your contribution matters:
**Every single dollar donated to this campaign will sponsor one of these teachers, who will then go on to positively impact hundreds -- and eventually thousands! -- of students in the course of that teacher's career. Your contribution will help these teachers be able to participate this summer in a 16-day yoga teacher training, specifically designed for pre-k through college level educators.
Our training program will be offered at a substantially reduced price of $1500 per participant. However, we've set a fundraising goal of $30,000 so we can offer full financial support to teachers who apply for our scholarship program (see picture for those who have been accepted). Once all our scholarship applicants are funded, additional GoFundMe donations will support Breathe For Change’s efforts to realize its mission of changing the world, one teacher at a time.
AND...and added bonus: **FOR EVERY $10 we raise in this GoFundMe Campaign, another yoga mat will be given to a student in a classroom! (thanks to the amazing company, prAna, who has offered to provide mats for our programs!)
Breathe For Change’s unique program is much more than just yoga teacher training: it is a community call to action. So please, take action now by joining our movement, and helping our teachers. And together we will change the world.
So here's the Breathe For Change story:
We are a passionate group of educators and leaders who just launched Breathe For Change, Inc. (“B4C”), a nonprofit organization that aims to improve the health and well-being of students, teachers, and communities through yoga and mindfulness. Our mission is to change the world, one teacher at a time.
From June 23 to July 8, 2015, B4C will host its inaugural 200-hour yoga teacher training specifically for pre-k through college level teachers, during which 40 educators from across the country will learn to practice and teach mind-body practices that can transform their classrooms. At the conclusion of the training, graduates will qualify to register as yoga teachers through the Yoga Alliance, enabling them to lead yoga for all ages. We launched our website just last week, and already more than half of the 40 spots are filled.
