Boston - Chicago for Socialism 2014

Every year social justice activists from across the country travel to Chicago to participate in the Socialism Conference hosted by the Center for Economic Research and Social Change, publisher of Haymarket Books and the International Socialist Review, and co-sponsored by the International Socialist Organization, publisher of Socialist Worker newspaper.
The conference draws out over 1,400 activists and radicals who are involved in fighting the many injustices we face today: racism and mass incarceration, growing wealth inequality and stagnating wages, sexual violence against women, the destruction of the earth for short term profits, and the attack on public services including the defunding of public education and attack on teacher unions.
The weekend gives activists an opportunity to connect all the struggles we are involved in and discuss and debate strategies for success. It is also an opportunity to really dig into the history of working class people fighting back throughout the world, whether it is the history of the Black Panther Party and the Black Power movement or the Russian Revolution of 1917. The conference works to put education and action together so that we can fight for a world built on cooperation and sustainability instead of a world run on the exploitation and oppression of people.
