Hello Everyone!
Mormons Building Bridges Virginia is raising funds for upcoming pride festivals throughout Virginia. We are hoping to have Hug-a-Mormon Booths at Hampton Roads Pride on 08/23/2014, and at Virginia Pride in Richmond on 9/27/2014. Depending on how much money we raise we may also be able to host MBB booths in Northern VA Pride and Charlottsville Pride as well. This of course all costs money, nearly $100 for registration fees at each event alone.
The money you donate will go toward these fees as well as supplies such as "I hugged a Mormon" stickers and buttons. We appreciate any help we can get even if it is a small amount.
What is Mormons Building Bridges and why should you help them raise money?
"In accordance with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Mormons Building Bridges is dedicated to conveying love and acceptance to those who identify as LGBTQI and those who experience same-sex attraction and asserts that all our sisters and brothers are inherently worthy of love and belonging in our homes, congregations, and communities."
We hope that with your donation we can do more to reach out to members of the LGBTQIA community. By reaching out, we hope to build bridges of hope and healing between both our communities that before only had chasms of misunderstanding and pain.
