The Blanket Project : San Francisco

Hello all!
My name is Mercedes Perkins. I am currently a sophomore at University of San Francisco studying International Studies.
I have followed along closely with an old classmate of mine, and my good friend Taylor Bradley's "The Blanket Project" and have teamed with her to begin a San Francisco Chapter.
For those of you who don't know, Taylor Bradley has founded "The Blanket Project" in Grand Junction, CO to help those in need this winter with supplying blankets. She has been given donations to help her cause and continues to bless those around her by giving back.
We are very excited to expand this project to San Francisco.
While San Francisco is not the coldest of states, it does get very chilly during the winter time, and we have a massive homeless population that resides here.
Whether those who are homeless have decided that lifestyle, or if it is due to something out of their control, they still deserve warmth and comfort during this holiday season as well as year round.
My hope is to raise money as Taylor has to purchase and distribute coats, blankets, and winter wear to those who are in need. I will be making trips to Goodwill and other thrift shops around the area to purchase blankets and distribute to different homeless communities around San Francisco. My hope is to focus on the Tenderloin as well as the Haight Ashbury area.
I am so grateful to be a part of an amazing project and Taylor and I are both very grateful for everyone's contribution and support.
