Keeping the Legacy Alive

Keeping Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune legacy alive!
We, the members of the National Council of Negro Women Lee County Section, are located in Bishopville, SC.
In 1985 we were fortunate to purchase the place where Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune was born in 1875, in Mayesville, SC, who was the founder of the organization and Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida. The organization mission is to develop in phases the birthsite of Br. Bethune into a state of art attraction with a replica of the house where she was born, outdoor classrooms and a community learning center. The Memorial park is a 9 acre landscaped park, a beautiful place for picnics, family reunions, wedding/receptions, meetings or a day in the sun.
We are a non profit organization that depends solely on donations. Over the years we have had a debt of over $78,000.00. Through donations we are down to less than $7,000.00. With the turn in the economy the struggle has been greater. We would like to pay this debt off as quickly as possible. Your donation will help.
