Mugzy's Surgery Costs

Donation protected
Mugzy is our 6 year old pug family member.  He means everything to us.  He recently began to show signs of a strange wobble on his rear legs.  He has progressed to the point where he now is limping on his front legs, wobbling on the back, and just wants to stay in one place.

The current veterinarian believes that he has a malformed back that is causing some scar tissue or possibly the spine itself to be putting pressure on the spinal cord.  Without surgery, they say he will ultimately lose all control of his rear quarters to include bowels and urinary functions.

Several veterinary visits later, we are being referred to Auburn veterinary school where he can have the best care and best tools to help him get better.   The first step of this is his MRI and workup.  Auburn has advised this will be between $2000-2500 and they will decide on the next step once the results of the MRI are looked at.   They said to expect surgery to run anywhere from $5000-7500 depending on what is needed to be done.

We have applied and received $3500 loan from CareCredit that we will use to cover the MRI and other test.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

We will keep all updated as we know more.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and caring!
