It's more than just an average name. You love it. We want to keep it. Help us do just that!
What started out as a small, late-night hot dog stand has grown into the restaurant, carts, and soon-to-be historic food truck that you've all come to love and that we've worked so hard to promote. But as we continue to grow throughout our community, and hopefully beyond, we've realized the importance of a name and therefore the need not only to protect it, but also to protect our reputation.
Were we the first Between the Buns? No.
Will we be the last Between the Buns? Probably not.
Long story short: we've recently become aware of the fact that "Between the Buns" was trademarked many years ago by a very nice man across the country with a vision similar to ours. After contacting him and learning that his plans for the name haven't panned out, he's agreed to let us purchase the trademark rights from him but we need your help.
Now, if you are like me, you may be asking how a name can be so much? We actually did do our research as far as how to value a name/trademark and trust me! I wish it were as simple as him signing it over but it's much more than that. The cost of us changing our name would include graphic design work, a new logo, new signs, new vehicle and cart wraps, new uniforms, new merchandise, new cards, new menus, new website, new social media accounts, hours upon hours of time and a whole lot of money. We had to really think on this one and in the end we decided it's a price we're willing to pay not only to avoid the time and money it would cost in the physical changes but also the risk of people questioning whether or not the business was sold, if it had new owners, if the food would be changing; the risk of losing customers, etc. A name change can literally put a place out of business, which would come at a much greater cost than $8k. We understand this concern and inquiry from our customers and appreciate that even if it's not something you can financially support that you will back us by spreading the word so we can not only keep our business with its existing name but take it to new heights as we continue to grow and hope to open additional locations in the future.
So please, help us see our dream through. Help us make "Between the Buns" a name in your neighborhood. A place where you can make memories and tell stories and giggle when you reminisce about your experience with us. That is why we are here.
