Benefit for Brooke

On Sunday, July 12, on her 18th birthday, Brooke Dahman was involved in a traumatic ATV accident while visiting family in Missouri. She has incurred numerous and debilitating injuries. While she is stable and conscious, she has a very long road ahead of her. Brooke recently graduated High School and was accepted to the East Texas Baptist University to start in the fall. Brooke is a very devout Christian and actively involved in her church. This loving family also lost Brooke’s step-father in a motorcycle accident 8 years ago. They are no stranger to hard times and loss, but as the saying goes “he never gives you more than you can handle”. They have stood strong and united in the face of tragedy and they have overcome, but we all need a little help from our friends and this is one of those times. Her family does not have health insurance. The tab for this horrendous accident is quickly stacking up. Travel costs, lost wages, lodging and food are only a prelude to the imminent and astronomical hospital bills for the numerous surgeries, hospital stay and physical therapy that are to come.

Brooke is slowly pulling through and hitting small milestones of improvement each day thanks to the amazing doctors, her strong will, her steadfast family and the power of prayer. Anyone who has had experience with a trauma of this kind knows all too well the challenges this family faces in the coming weeks, months and years. I am a friend of the family. Working with other friends such as myself whose lives have been touched by this precious young lady, I am seeking to alleviate as much of the financial burden of all of this as is possible. We are asking first that you pray for Brooke and her family, keep them in your thoughts. If you are able, any amount of financial support you can give will help greatly. It will help to ensure that Brooke’s mark on this world, her compassion, selfless goodwill and all the great things we know she will do, will not be hindered in any way by an inability to bear the costs of her recovery. No one will work harder than Brooke! Let’s make sure that aside from an ironclad resolve and God by her side (which we know already she has) the only other thing she’ll need is hugs and kisses!
The above picture was taken the day after the accident.
This was taken a few days after the accident right after her wrist surgery.  She sure is fighting hard!!!!
