Barbara's Tea House (Needs help)

Donation protected
My name is Nicole Lopez. My mother, Barbara Lopez, is the owner of Barbara’s Victorian Tea House in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She has been operating since March of 2006.

Effective November 2017, my mom has been informed by the City of Rancho Cucamonga that she cannot operate until all permits are up to code.

We are a family owned business and for 11 years have been here to serve any organization or individual to a unique experience in our historic Victorian home.

Customers come from out of state to return time and time again. We have made many lifetime friendships and cherish every one of them.

My mom’s passion to serve others is a true blessing. Our family goes above and beyond to make our customers feel welcomed, loved and appreciated.

We have welcomed and been honored to host an annual Girl’s Tea, serving local high school girls who are at risk of not completing high school.

We also have had the honor of serving transitional foster care adults via business and professional etiquette for an easier transition to help them accomplish their goals.

After investing over $100,000 to upgrade our commercial kitchen to get the required permit for the tea house, we have been notified that we cannot operate until all other city permits are in order. We have exhausted all our savings to try and get everything completed in a timely manner. After 4 years of dealing with the Health Department, we’ve completed the kitchen, however, we can’t get the permit until the City of Rancho Cucamonga approves all the other code enforcement permits and inspections which will take us far into January 2018 or beyond.

This is our family’s sole livelihood. Without being able to operate and our income being cut off, we do not have the funds to complete the city’s requirements.

One of the major requirements is to pave our parking lot. This came as a complete surprise. The estimates we’ve received for this job range from $28K to $32K. The cost of additional permits run $5K-$10K.

We are asking for help from our loyal customers and friends who would like to see Barbara’s Victorian Teahouse continue to operate. We have come so far in the upgrades and are devastated by the inability to move forward. We have so much faith that God’s Divine Hand and our continued hard work will help keep us going.

We welcome any questions you may have and we can fill in any details missing here. If you are so inclined, please share on social media. Any and all help is deeply appreciated.

We would like to deeply THANK God, our customers, family and friends, and those who have come and gone, for all
their patronage, support and good wishes..."FOR WITHOUT YOU, WE WOULD NOT BE." MAY GOD BLESS YOU
AND YOUR FAMILIES...FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS...THANK YOU!!
