The Lilydale Seniors Computer Club is organised by three pensioners who conduct meetings every Monday in the local Lilydale library to teach computer literacy to seniors. We also teach seniors how to use their digital cameras and mobile phones. There is no charge to anyone who attends and we rely solely on grants for our ongoing expenses.
From time to time we need to buy software, consumable items like paper and ink etc and sometimes a new computer so we can instal and demonstrate problems to a question. We cannot instal software on the library computers. The amount we are currently seeking will adequately help us with our current needs.
Over the past ten years of our volunteering we have averaged more than 500 people coming to us each year with their problems.
Any senior is welcome to come with a problem and there is never a charge,no matter how many times they attend. The lessons are unstructured and based solely on a request for help.
