Hello Amazing #MoreThanClothing Supporter,
I hope this message reaches you at a monumental time in your life. I know many have been wondering, “What’s going on with the movement?” Well, I’m here to deliver a brief update on everything. First off, I just confirmed a video shoot with my videographer for Saturday December 6th to shoot the final video for the campaign. In that video, I will be shouting out everyone who donated (minus the anonymous donors) and giving everyone more updates on when they should be expecting their incentives. I expect to have that video up by the second week in December.
A few people have hit me up about still donating. Although donations are officially closed on this campaign, you can always send funds via Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you donate before December 6th, you will still get the same incentives as the Go Fund Me donors. I also still have a few #YoungBlackandGifted shirts available at www.purchaseblack.com/freedom.
Those sales help benefit the company as well.
Well, that’s about all folks. The creation of a company – even an online one without doors and windows – is far from easy. Each and every day I’m thinking of new, innovative ways to get this company up and running sooner than later. I appreciate this journey and I also appreciate you taking it with me.
Stay tuned for the next video!

The campaign is now coming to a close. Thank you all so much for the support during these last few months. We have raised $1,219, which is a pretty damn good amount to help get things rolling. For now, I will continue to put in my own funds and sell shirts in order to raise the funds needed to take things to the next level. Look out for the last video coming out in a few weeks. It will detail the dispersion of rewards and incentives, and give more details on the next steps. People can still visit the fundraising page until that point, but donations have been disabled.
Stay tuned! #MoreThanClothing #freeDUMBApparel

The overall goal for #MoreThanClothing
is to create a socially conscious apparel company that markets revolutionary and thought provoking products designed to encourage people to support grass-roots organizations, independent education, and cultural movements.
The brand seeks to provide customers with quality clothing, promote introspection, advocate pro-activity, and stimulate the revolutionary spirit that’s within all oppressed, marginalized, and distressed people. This company is about being bluntly provocative and conquering ignorance. The goal of our gear is to get you to at least consider other possibilities, question everything, and make informed decisions to foster your holistic growth and development.
Once the brand is officially launched, the business will be a proud sponsor of the following iniatives:
•Nsoroma Academy For Holistic Thought
- Nsoroma Academy for Holistic Thought is a community-based, family supported, private school. They work to cultivate internal awareness and discipline, to guide each child toward a strong sense of thoughtfulness, responsibility, respect and courage. Their students actively engage in hands-on learning, free & directed activities, yoga, dance, meditation, martial arts, physical education, and music. Through the support of staff and families, Nsoroma’s students develop high scholarly aptitude while embracing a compassionate connectivity with their world.
•Apples and Oranges Fresh Market
- Apples & Oranges is a full service grocery store that opened East Baltimore in March of 2013, providing better food for a better community.
• The Great Blacks in Wax Museum
– The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum is among the nation’s most dynamic cultural and educational institutions. Because it is a wax museum committed solely to the study and preservation of African American history, it is also among the most unique. Primarily, the presentation of life-size, life-like wax figures highlighting historical and contemporary personalities of African ancestry defines its uniqueness. Why should you make a contribution?
Often times, we support brands that don't even consider giving back to our communities. They don't support our schools, businesses, or local initiatives, but we give to them almost religiously, just to maintain a certain look. We don't even know the stories behind these high-end European brands that we adore so much. Instead of continuing the careless act of spending our hard earned income with everybody, I think it's time for us to pool our money and create something sustainable and community-centered. Consider the story of Black Wall Street, the wealthiest black community to ever exist within the United States. They cultivated their community and made sure thier businesses were supported to the fullest extent.
With this brand, I want to create something magical. I want people to create world-changing dialogue caused by one of my many thought-provoking designs.
Here are a few limited-edition designs I've created in the past that got a pretty big buzz on the internet (sold many of them through teespring.com): Rewards!!!
So, I'm not a fan of asking people for support without offering something in return. That would just be plain ol' rude.
$10 or more = a special shoutout in the final campaign video
$25 or more = the previous reward + a special card sent from me right to you
$50 or more = the previous rewards + two tickets to the official launch party for the clothing line
$100 or more = the previos rewards + an advanced t-shirt that's going to be featured in the first collection of the clothing line (get excited!!!)
$150 or more = all previous rewards + a special, mystery bonus gift
$300 = all the previous rewards, a certificate of a appreciate + the complete first t-shirt collection once the brand launches In Closing...
The plan is to move mountains with this brand. I want to have an online business that vibrant and empowering. Together, we can make this dream become a moving, animate peice of reality.
Tell all your friends, family members, neighbors, and even a few enemies, to join you in supporting by visiting www.MoreThanClothing.com
and to use the hashtag #MoreThanClothing
P.S. The clothing line is not going to be called "More Than Clothing." Once the campaign successfully ends, the official name of the brand will be announced. Stay tuned!
