AV1 Robot for Makayla

At the young age of 8 Makayla was busy with swimming, Ballet, tap dancing, horse riding and loved being at school, then one day after a day out that all changed as she became unwell.
5 months later we got the heartbreaking news and she was diagnosed myalgic encephalomyelitis or CFS what ever you want to call it still robbed her of her childhood. Makayla had to give up her hobbies and worst of all she had to go on reduced hours at school. Fast forward 7 years and now in year 9 at school
sadly she is still in reduced hours at school and not able to do the things a normal teenager should be doing.
Reduced hours at school is the only way Makayla is able to manage day to day but sadly this is starting to affect her education, she misses out on lessons and is becoming behind and with exams in a few years the stress is also affecting her.
Over the yrs Makayla has helped the charity Invest in ME raising nearly £4,000 for research into this debilitating illness. The charity offered Makayla the fantastic opportunity to trail AV1 a telepresence robot from the Norwegian company No Isolation.
Robbie as the school named him has been amazing this little robot sits on her desk while shes at home but enables her to be part of the lesson she is missing out on. Robbie allows Makayla to see and talk the teacher her friends but most of all carry on her education when she’s not able to be in school.
sadly it’s time for Robbie to go back to Norway but we don’t want to send him back so we need some help to raise some
money to be able to rent Makayla
her very own robot.
This young lady has struggled with this awful illness for far to long and we still don’t have any answers for her, she’s been to
ill to play with her friends now it’s robbing her of her education.
Any donation will be a step closer to her having a “normal education “ and for which we can’t thank you enough.
