AR Trans Community DC lawmaker visit

Donation protected
There are between 12-15 members of the transgender community of Arkansas and their allies heading to Washington, DC to meet with their members of Congress next month, July 14th - 15th for Transgender Lobby Day.

The meetings will center on ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. ENDA passed the Senate last year, but sits in the House. Arkansas is one of the 32 states where transgender people can be fired, denied housing or public accomodations for being who they are. Please help our community discuss their stories with their lawmakers, because legislative visits like these are ways bills can move and change can happen.

Right now, we're carpooling to Washington in either 2-3 vehicles, but in order to pay for additional gasoline expenses or rent a larger vehicle, I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer in getting to DC and back. Supporting our trip is one way to help the fight for equality in Arkansas and the U.S.

Thank you,
