About The King of Arms Art Ball:
Bridging the gap between NYC’s legendary ballroom scene, social justice and contemporary art.; The King of Arms Art Ball is a social practice piece in which Newsome transforms LIVESTREAM PUBLIC into a scene from one of his visually baroque videos. This project is designed to empower the winners of each category to turn their skills in the ballroom into a career, with opportunities like: inkind dance studio time; inkind recording studio time with profesional engineer and internships at fashion magazines.

Categories:
Hosted by the iconic Jack Mizrahi; The King of Arms Art Ball has carefully curated a total of five categories, with each one inspired by a legendary artist or iconic moments within art history.
[1] RUNWAY: "Gravity and Grace"
[2] FACE/HAIR AFFAIR: Lorna Simpson vs. The Bronner Brothers
[3] SEX SIREN: "BLACK LIVES MATTER"
[4] COMMENTATOR vs COMMENTATOR: Verses & Bars
[5] PERFORMANCE: "Vogue Afrique"
Each category is open to all performers regardless of gender identity/expression. All performers must preregister HERE for a chance to storm the stage and wow the judges panel made up of vogue scene legends and prominent entertainers, contemporary artists, curators, fashion designers, writers and activists.
