Alaskan Arctic Expedition 2015

Donation protected

I am so thrilled and honored to announce I have been offered a dream come true opportunity to be part of an Alaskan Arctic Expedition team led by Joe "Malamute Man" Henderson in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWF) from April 20-30, 2015.

Between airfare and expedition costs, I need a total of $6000. I am seeking donations for $3500 still remaining in order to make this dream come true.

Joe and and his 22 Alaskan Malamutes, will skillfully and safely lead a 6-member team as we cover a distance of approximately 120 miles via cross-country ski, snowshoe and dogsled. As we break trail and carve a path in the deep snow, we will collect dead wood for evening firewood in order to keep warm, melt snow and cook meals.

During April, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge winter conditions will offer average highs of average low temperature of -10F and highs of 5F. The beautiful, stark landscape will challenge my body, mind and soul. This will be the most challenging and difficult experience of my life to date, but without a doubt, one of the most rewarding of my life.

This will also be a extraordinary way to commemorate my 50th year on Earth! Ever since I was a young girl, winter has been my favorite season and I've read nearly everything I can get my hands about the Arctic/Alaska. As a youngster, playing in my snow caves and exploring the snowy woods, I've pretended to be an Arctic explorer. On April 20, 2015, I will make this dream a reality by going to the Arctic as an explorer!

Please help me make my dream come true by donating what you can. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you ahead of time for your endearing support, encouragement and generosity! I could not do this without you...
