OUR MISSION
OVER THE RAINBOW THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER STRIVES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN EQUINE ASSISTED ACTIVITIES.
Over The Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center is a place where individuals with special challenges come together, and where victories — some dramatic, some modest, but all significant — are joyously celebrated.
Over The Rainbow is a non-profit organization that provides equine assisted therapy to individuals with physical, educational, emotional, intellectual disabilities and other challenges. Our clients develop physical strength and better mobility, self-esteem and self-confidence while receiving therapy through an equestrian activity that accommodates their specific needs.
Under the guidance of certified riding instructors, therapeutic riding helps individuals experience physical and emotional rewards. In addition to our staff, a very dedicated group of volunteers and specially selected horses help to meet the needs of this exceptional group of people.
Over The Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center operates under the guidelines of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) and our instructors will all be PATH certified.
All of the animals used in the program are rescue horses that were destined for death. We take them in, rehab them and train them to use in the center's program. There is no person or animal turned away in this program, nor is there a charge. The program is run on donations. The care and up keep of the animals is expensive as is the daily program. Any help is greatly appreciated.
