Anderson Brothers Need New Wheels

Donation protected
The Anderson Brothers are in desperate need for a new transportation van. If you're one of the few that haven’t met any of the three Anderson brothers yet, let me begin by sharing a little information about them.

Lloyd, Henry, and Cody Anderson are brothers who share the same rare disease called Pelizaeus–Merzbacher. This effects their central nervous system; meaning their coordination, motor abilities, and intellectual functions are delayed. All three brothers are in motorized wheelchairs and need daily care.

They all three live with their parents in Gorham, who have devoted their lives to care for them, along with their grandmother and other family members. That being said, Lloyd, Henry, and Cody are the most exceptional individuals I (along with many others) have ever encountered. They all three have such positive personalities and the best sense of humor known to man! They are so sweet, down to earth, and they have the ability to make friends with everyone they come in contact with. They truly live their lives by turning their weaknesses and translating them into positives. Never complaining or feeling sorry for themselves because of their disabilities. It’s incredible to me to see their outlook on life while staying so upbeat throughout it all, when so many of us seem to complain so often over the simplest day to day “ tragedies”. I know we all can get so caught up in the moment of what we're doing every day, it's hard to hit that reset button and get pulled away from all that to see life from a different perspective.

Lloyd, Henry, and Cody love being out in the community, they thrive with seeing and interacting with community members. They love to go camping at the seasonal camp ground in Poland, the enjoy shopping, bowling, family and friends affairs, and trips to Orono for special Olympics.

However their current transportation van has taken a toll (like many Maine vehicles do) and with the recent repairs done to this van- they were told “time to get a new one”- repairing their current one is no longer an option. Finding a van that can safely transport three guys along with their electric wheelchairs is no simple or inexpensive task. Thankfully their parents went on the hunt and found one that meets all the needs to accommodate the Anderson brothers. They are looking to buy the 2018 Ford Transit Handicap Van. Lloyd, Henry, and Cody all went to take it out on a test drive. “It’s a nice smooth ride” -Lloyd. Henry really enjoyed the sound system of the radio! Cody- well he says he loves everything about it! “And mom & dad don’t have to worry about breaking down with us in this!” But due to the high price tag that comes along with this “smooth reliable ride” Their parents are unable to afford financing for it. That’s why my sisters and I are creating this go fund me page.

We all would greatly appreciate any donations you can provide to help us raise the money to purchase the 2018 Ford Transit Handicap Van. Please help us in fund raising the cost of a new transportation van so the Anderson Brothers can continue to go out in their community, get to and from all their appointments, and travel without the worry of breaking down. Any support you can provide will greatly help in this cause (even just sharing this link to get it out to as many people as we can) Thank you all for your support!
