Business Under Attack by Land Developers

Out of state land developers have acquired property next to our very small dog training business, Mannerly Mutts Dog Training, and home in York Maine.   Since January 2014, they have been attacking us through municipal and now state court avenues to have our business shut down, mainly because they can.

With the help of our attorney, we were able to win our Appeal stemmed by the Code Enforcement Officer of the Town of York improperly doing her job, and making many errors.   The Code Enforcement became involved, because the land developers knew this was a way to make problems for us, even though we are properly zoned and have a valid use.

Now the same land developers have filed a suit against the Town of York, of which we are the unfortunate interested party who will be affected.   Because of this, we have no choice but to fight and pay in order to keep our business.   Not doing so could automatically make the Land Developers successful, even though they do not own the property under which the corporation filed it's suit.

Not fighting would be loosing everything we have, as this is our sole income right now.   Fighting is necessary but we are lacking the funds to pay our lawyer what he needs to do.

Any help would be appreciated.   We want to continue serving the community by saving dogs and keeping them in their homes, and we want to enjoy our property in peace.  It is unfortunate that with enough money, anyone can back you into a corner like this without any real recourse except to fight and expend money doing it.
