Imagine not being able to hug your loved ones and/or losing the language to tell them you care. What would it be like to find yourself unable to do the activities that have brought you joy your whole life? Or the tasks that keep your world together? This progressive deterioration of life quality is what people with Neurodegenerative Diseases face every day.
My father-in-law Hal was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 28 years ago. In the 11 years I have known him I have seen his condition deteriorate from wheelchair mobility to becoming completely bedridden; paralyzed from the neck down. Seeing firsthand the abilities taken from him that so many of us take for granted is devastating.
My wife Caley started #BecauseYouCan in his honor and to help others suffering from Neurodegenerative Diseases such as MS. In addition, #BecauseYouCan hopes to raise awareness and spark motivation in those able to use their bodies to their fullest potential.
From August 29th to Sept 2nd, I'll be cycling in the Dolomite Mountains to raise money for #BecauseYouCan programs that directly enhance quality of life for those living with Neurodegenerative Disease.
I’m conquering my challenge in order to help people with Neurodegenerative Disease tackle theirs, and I NEED YOUR HELP!
Please help me reach my goal of $4000. I will be covering all my expenses, therefore every dollar donated will go to fund quality of life-enhancing tools to make a difference in peoples lives.
