Saving Havoc

Donation protected
This is my boy. His name is Havoc.

I rescued him as a tiny, blue eyed puppy almost 7 years ago. He earned the name Havoc, but I have never regretted my decision to bring him into my home and life.

When I came home tonight, he greeted me at the door as he always does...but there was something different about him. He was slow, breathing heavily, and not at all interested in going for his walk. Normally I have to let him dance his excitement out before I can even get the leash on...but not tonight.

I rushed him to the emergency vet clinic thinking that he had maybe gotten into the trash (one of his favorite games, no matter how skillfully I guard the yummy yummy garbage). I was afraid that maybe he had swallowed a handful of plastic bologna casing, a common concern for dog owners.

Tonight the emergency veterinarian told me that his stomach was clear...but there was something very wrong with my poor boy.

At just under 7 years of age, Havoc has been given a first diagnosis of anal sac adenocarcinoma. This is incredibly painful and if left untreated may result in death.

Having just returned home, I am frantic. I am a freelance cartoonist. I live gig to gig, project to project...I have no money to help my boy. He is in so much pain, he won't even squeak is favorite squeaky toy.

I am asking for any help anyone would like to give to help me save my sweet Havoc. The emergency vet could not quote me an exact price for the surgery he requires to remove the possibly cancerous anal sac as they do not perform the operation, but they did estimate that it could range anywhere from 1,200 to 2,500...and that does not include follow up or further lab work and medications.

I'm hoping to raise at least $3,000 to save my boy. This money would, of course, be put toward his surgery which I intend to schedule as soon as possible as well as any further medical expenses we may incur along the way.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read all this...and thank you for your help.
