My name is Sheda. I created this GoFundMe page to not just raise money, but to see my dream come to life.
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I have been ready to work since the age of 3. If you asked me a couple years ago what I wanted to do in life, I wouldn’t have had a clear answer for you. I knew that I had passion for a lot of things, and I knew that I could be great at a lot of things, and while I had a end goal in mind, I didn’t exactly know how I was going to get there.
I have always had a passion for anything beauty related, whether it was doing hair, doing makeup, or testing out the latest product, if it was beauty oriented, I was there.
In 2013, I began working as a freelance make-up artist, working on a few projects to get my name out there. As most of you know the Make-Up world is full of amazing talent and you definitely need to standout. I knew that I was good, but was I good enough to really stand out?
Early 2014, I started a Youtube channel, and started to build a following, but I quickly started to hear that nagging voice again, with the million-dollar question “Are you really standing out?”
I remember sitting in my room at my makeup vanity getting ready for an evening out, I couldn’t find the perfect shade of lipstick to match the look I was doing for that night. I eventually mixed two different colors together to get the right shade, and from there it sparked the idea that I was going to have my own cosmetic line.
From the beginning I knew exactly what I wanted, but again the question was how to go about getting it done? I wasn’t a cosmetic chemist, I wasn’t formally trained, I literally had no clue on where to begin. I started endless research, I searched the Internet, YouTube, chemists, and from there Ajani Cosmetics came to life.
The name Ajani means “he who wins the struggle”, and I thought it fit perfectly with what I was trying to accomplish. I believe that you do not have to use one million ingredients, animal additives or by –products to produce high quality makeup. You should be able to read an ingredient label and know exactly what you are putting on your skin.
This has literally been a dream of mine for a year now, all the hard work that I have been putting in is finally coming together, but I still need some help!
Allow me to introduce you to Ajani Cosmetics!
I have created a line of all natural matte lip creams. What’s a lip cream? Think of it as a cross between a lipstick & a lip-gloss. Our formulas are vegan, and we only use the highest quality ingredients.
This isn't your average lipstick with a million ingredients. This is a luxury lip product, handmade with you in mind. Our base consists of a blend of 8 ingredients, some of which include Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil & Mango Butter.
Not only will you look your best when wearing our lip creams, but you can feel your best knowing that you are not putting something harmful on your skin.
These lippies go on creamy, and then dry to a matte finish.
Here are the initial 10 shades that wil be available April 18th, 2015:
The initial support & feedback that I have received has been amazing thus far. I definitely believe that I have created a product that is going to be quite popular in the marketplace.
Without giving you the entire long drawn out story, I went for a grant back in February to help finalize the remaining funds needed, which I unfortunately did not get, and as luck would have it, I lost my job within that same week. I have been putting every cent into this to get through the initial product development stage, and to have product on hand for launch day, but I need a little more help to make sure on launch day we will be able to meet the anticipated demand!
With your financial support, I will be able to fully stock our production lab with the following:
· Raw ingredients used in our base.
· Dyes & pigments used to color the lip creams
· Purchase a larger amount of product tubes in bulk
· Stock up on promotional materials (flyers, thank you cards, etc)
I will also be participating in at least 2 local beauty related events in the Toronto area, within the next 3 months, and your contribution will also help with maintaining product levels to create enough lip creams to be a vendor at these events.
I believe there is room for all of us to win and succeed, and a little support goes a long way!
