We're Thankful For Rob (H&S Foundation)

October 13th, 2014 will be Thanksgiving Day in Canada. It will also mark 1 year since Rob Benedict had a stroke at the end of the Salute to Supernatural convention in Toronto. Fortunately, Rob has had a great recovery and that is in no small part to the first rate treatment he received in a Toronto hospital that night.
We (Jennifer and Sara) are two fans who attended TorCon in 2013 and will be doing so again this year. We thought it would be a nice gesture to do something for Rob to show that the fans remember what happened at the convention one year ago and that we are happy to celebrate with him his return to TorCon in good health.
To do so we decided we’d like to raise some money to donate to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation. We have set up this page to collect donations. A few days before the con, we will take all the money collected and donate it in one lump sum to the Foundation in Rob’s honour. We will also make a card for Rob to let him know about the donation and give it to him at the convention, either during autographs or during his meet & greet with Richard and Matt. The card will include the names of all the fans who contributed to the donation along with a brief message from each fan if they choose to include one.
We are aware many fans already made donations to the American Heart & Stroke Association, the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, or similar foundations in their own countries back when Rob first shared the news of his stroke with us late last fall. We’re not trying to pressure anyone to donate more on top of that or make a big financial commitment to this. However, if just 100 fans each donate $10 we could raise $1,000. No donation is too small and every contribution will be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, we plan to have a card at the convention that fans in attendance can sign on Thursday night during and after registration and on Friday. Anyone who wants to can sign the card.
